This blog was born as the result of a 143-pound weight loss and the commitment to “pay it forward” in helping others achieve the same success. The blog is new and growing and all aspects to assist in your transition to a healthy lifestyle will be addressed – from motivation, to nutrition, to exercise, to emotional support, to sharing in the journeys of others and answering questions …

How will it help me?

You will find many useful resources and articles here on healthy weightloss. I have shared my own personal experience and knowledge in this blog, which is a proven formula to healthy weight loss. Additional topics will be researched and reported to provide an ever increasing database of information designed to assist you along your journey and help you achieve your goals.

Apart from the information and services provided in the blog, we also have a successful weight loss group hosted at DailyStrength where you will find a friendly, caring, supportive community of people who are walking in your same shoes. Weight Loss Calculator -
(This is really a nice calculator. It provides the amount of weight to lose, recommended pounds to lose per week and provides an estimated date to reach your goal. This is from Health MSN)

Weight Conversion Calculator I -
(This is a great calculator and shows pounds, stones, kilos, grams or ounces – This is from Weight Loss Resources from the UK)

Weight Conversion Calculator II
(This is a multi-functional calculator that takes one type of entry and calculates it to many different measures – This is from Scales Galore)

Calorie Calculator -
(This calculator provides you with the calories needed to MAINTAIN your weight. This is different for each person and is dependent on your age, height, weight, sex and activity level.This is from Mayo Clinic.)

It should be noted that losing 1 pound requires a net reduction of 3,500 calories. So, if you cut back 500 calories a day, you should lose one pound a week. Exercising also plays a dramatic role in weight loss and the calories burned can be counted towards the 3,500 calorie deficit needed to lose a pound.
